PISA REGIONAL CONFERENCE, “RAISING LEARNING OUTCOMES IN SOUTHEAST ASIA: INSIGHTS FROM PISA”, 29 NOVEMBER 2018

The Ministry of Education, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), the Office of Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and the Office of the Education Council (ONEC) organized a seminar on “Raising Learning Outcomes in Southeast Asia : Insights from PISA” during 29 – 30 November 2018 at The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok.

Mr. Teerakiat Jareonsettasin, MD, Minister of Education, presided over the opening of the seminar. on 29 November 2018 at 13.45 – 14.20 hrs. at Kamolmas Room, The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok. The event was also attended by Professor Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of IPST and Mr. Andreas Schleicher, Director, Directorate of Education and Skills, OECD.

The seminar provided a sharing platform for policy makers and educators in Southeast Asia to connect and explore strategies and practices in various areas such as curriculum, instruction and assessment as well as teacher and school leadership development and draw fully on data, analysis and insight from the PISA survey. The seminar has received great support from executives and educators from seven countries comprising Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand.
